Job summary

MMP Consultancy is recruiting an experienced Damp & Mould Team Leader to join a leading Housing service on an interim basis in London. You will lead a team of surveyors, drive service performance, safeguard residents and ensure cases are managed within statutory timescales.

This role requires a professional qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent, extensive damp and mould expertise, and a strong grasp of housing health and safety legislation including the Building Safety Act 2022.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent.
• Extensive experience diagnosing damp, mould and condensation.
• Strong knowledge of housing compliance requirements and related legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team responsible for investigating damp, mould and condensation across the housing stock.
• Carry out complex property inspections, diagnose defects, and identify root causes.
• Ensure compliance with Awaab's Law, Building Safety Act 2022, HHSRS and landlord obligations.
• Prepare technical specifications, schedules of works and cost estimates for remedial repairs.
• Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure high-quality completion within timescales.
• Monitor budgets, performance indicators and compliance reporting.
• Support disrepair claims and investigations with technical evidence and expert advice.
• Collaborate with housing, safeguarding and resident engagement teams for a resident-focused service.
• Produce management information and performance updates for senior leadership.
• Identify recurring defects and contribute to planned maintenance and asset investment.
