Job summary

Stonewater is seeking a Building Surveyor (Homes Business Partner) to join our damp and mould team on a fixed-term contract to May 2027. This hybrid role covers Reading/Surrey with travel to SE locations as required.

You will carry out inspections (in person and virtually), diagnose causes of damp, mould and disrepair, order works, and track cases to completion while ensuring HHSRS actions keep homes safe. Strong communication and housing knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC level or equivalent professional experience in construction, housing, management or property.
• Knowledge of building pathology and be able to diagnose cause of damp and mould.
• Have proven experience of delivering a maintenance service
• Have good understanding of Decent Homes requirements.
• Have good written/ verbal communication skills.
• Have knowledge of building components, diagnosis of building defects, building/contract law, building regulations, housing law.
• Have strong attention to detail and understands the importance of recording all relevant information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections (in-person and virtually) to diagnose damp, mould and disrepair.
• Order works and track cases to completion.
• Collaborate with Homes and Partnering Contractors where specialist input is needed.
• Track HHSRS actions to ensure homes are safe.
• Role is home based with travel to South East locations and attend national meetings as required.
