Job summary

Emerald Group in London is seeking an experienced claims professional to bolster the claims team and deliver high-quality service to policyholders, brokers, underwriters and capacity providers. The role focuses on cyber claims with a proactive approach from first notification of loss to settlement within delegated authorities.

You will handle cyber and capacity provider claims, ensure prompt reserving, pursue recoveries, and manage cross-border cyber incidents with incident response vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience of handling claims.
• Good understanding of insurance policy wordings – cyber and tech policies a particular advantage.
• Experience with cross border and international cyber incidents or forensic investigations.
• Experience working with incident response vendors (legal and forensic providers).
• Educated to degree standard; DIP/ACII or legal degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle cyber and claims on capacity providers from first notification of loss to settlement within the delegated authorities.
• Ensure prompt and accurate reserving, identifying and pursuing relevant third party recoveries and seeking to reduce claims leakage.
• Identify deadlines and address claims queries with prioritisation as needed.
• General claims administrative duties including electronic file management and payment requests, and production of management information.
• Work closely with underwriters providing feedback on claims issues/trends and with Products team on development of products/wordings.
• Identify and elevate claims issues to Claims Manager and Claims Director where necessary.

They are seeking a conscientious and hardworking claims professional with experience in cyber claims.

Key responsibilities including however, not limited to the following:

• Proactively handle cyber and claims on capacity providers from first notification of loss to settlement within the delegated authorities
• Ensure that there is prompt and accurate reserving, identifying and pursuing relevant third party recoveries and seeking to reduce claims leakage
• The ability to prioritise where necessary, identifying deadlines such as those stipulated within lawsuits, demand letters and in addressing claims queries
• General claims administrative duties such as electronic file management filing and payment requests, and the production of management information
• Working closely with underwriters providing feedback on claims issues/trends and the Products team concerning the development of products and wordings
• Identify and elevate claims related issues to Claims Manager and Claims Director where necessary
• Educated to degree standard
• DIP, ACII or legal degree preferred
