Amour Recruitment is seeking confident individuals to join our Portsmouth client as Customs Clearance Clerks. You will handle GB border pre-notifications and import/export declarations, with a focus on accuracy and professional customer communication.

The role requires good IT and Excel skills, a proactive, detail‑oriented mindset, and the ability to work under pressure. Training provided; rotating shifts Mon-Fri and on-call weekends with overtime.

Qualifications

• Excellent IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• A confident, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Someone who is comfortable working under pressure and dealing with customers professionally.

Responsabilités

• Completing GB Border pre-notifications.
• Preparing and processing import and export customs declarations.
• Calculating and processing HMRC duties and tariffs.
• Issuing proforma invoices.
• Communicating with customers and advising them on customs requirements.
• Submitting declarations to HMRC and ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
