Job summary

Amour Recruitment is seeking Customs Clearance Clerks in Portsmouth to support a well-established client. You will complete GB border pre-notifications, prepare/import and export declarations, and advise customers on customs requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires strong IT skills, Excel proficiency, and a confident, professional communication style. You will work Monday–Friday with shift patterns, and there is an on-call remote rota after training.

Qualifications

• Excellent IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• A confident, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Comfortable working under pressure and dealing with customers professionally.

Responsibilities

• Completing GB Border pre-notifications.
• Preparing and processing import and export customs declarations.
• Calculating and processing HMRC duties and tariffs.
• Issuing proforma invoices.
• Communicating with customers and advising them on customs requirements.
• Submitting declarations to HMRC and ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant.
