Job summary

HR GO Recruitment in Dover is seeking an experienced Customs Clearance Clerk to support end-to-end clearance activity on a rolling days and nights rota.

You will produce and check customs documentation, ensure entries are accurate in customs software and internal systems, and liaise with hauliers, suppliers and authorities to keep freight moving compliantly.

The role requires attention to detail and a solid understanding of customs processes, with a calm, clear communication style under pressure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Customs Clearance/Customs Admin role (import/export).
• Strong understanding of customs processes and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence working with documentation and systems.
• Clear communicator with a calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure.
• Able to work a rolling rota including 12-hour day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Produce and check Customs documentation to ensure compliant, on-time clearance
• Ensure entries are completed accurately in Customs software and internal systems
• Provide responsive support to internal teams, customers and authorities, resolving queries efficiently
• Work closely with hauliers, suppliers and external stakeholders to keep freight moving
• Monitor live shipment activity and take ownership of exceptions to minimise disruption
• Maintain strong knowledge of current Customs procedures and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with the wider team to deliver a seamless end-to-end clearance process
