Job summary

PSM Recruitment in Dover is seeking a Customs Clearance Operator for a busy 24/7 customs clearance operation. You will prepare and process documentation for goods entering and leaving the UK, delivering an efficient and professional service to customers and drivers. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work calmly under pressure; Descartes experience is a bonus. The position is full-time with training, on-site parking, 22 days holiday and a 3% pension.

PSM Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Customs Clearance Operator to join a busy and fast-paced 24/7 customs clearance operation based in Dover.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in customs, who enjoys working in a busy environment where accuracy, organisation and excellent customer service are essential.

The Role:

Working as part of a dedicated customs team, you will be responsible for preparing and processing customs documentation for goods entering and leaving the UK, while providing an efficient and professional service to customers and drivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and processing import and export customs documentation
• Accurately processing and inputting information into Customs systems
• Communicating confidently with customers, hauliers, internal teams and Customs authorities
• Handling and resolving Customs queries promptly and professionally
• Monitoring shipments and taking proactive action to resolve any issues
• Ensuring all Customs clearances are completed in line with current legislation and procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Organised and highly detail-focused

Hours & Benefits

• 12-hour shift pattern: 2 days (07:00-19:00), 2 nights (19:00-07:00), followed by 4 days off
