Job Opportunity: SPAR Customer Team Member

Hours: 16 hours per week, possibly more depending on store needs. Various shifts available.

We have an exciting opportunity for a SPAR Customer Team Member. In this role, you will support store management and create a positive customer experience by assisting in maximising sales and profit through various tasks. Your efforts will contribute to the continual improvement of our store, ensuring excellent customer service through the principles of ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food for later and Food for now!’

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Customer Service:
  • Greeting customers warmly and assisting with inquiries about products and services.
  • Processing transactions efficiently and maintaining friendly service.
  • Upselling products and highlighting special offers to maximise sales.
  • Store Operations:
    • Managing stock, checking deliveries, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor.
    • Rotating stock to ensure freshness and proper expiration dates.
    • Completing tasks like date checking, stock and gap checking, price updates, and promotional displays.
    • Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
    Key Skills and Knowledge:
    • Previous experience in a similar retail role is preferred.
    • Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
    • Understanding of retail legislation and ability to assist with compliance.
    • Proactive approach to delivering excellent customer service and supporting business growth.
    • Experience with a ‘Challenge 25’ policy is desirable.
    • Enthusiastic team player with the ability to work independently.
    • Cash handling experience is a plus but not essential.
