Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Hire Controller in Brentwood to deliver a high standard of customer service. You will greet customers at the depot, manage orders end-to-end, and use product knowledge to maximise upsell opportunities while building lasting relationships with customers.

You will work across in-person, phone, email and web channels, taking ownership of the customer journey and contributing to service improvements in a fast-paced, operational environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Customer Service role, handling orders and enquiries.
• Experience in hire or construction industry advantageous.
• Ability to develop product knowledge and understand the Sunbelt business.
• Exceptional communication, negotiating and influencing skills.
• Comfortable using own judgement to make decisions in line with policy and pricing.
• Effective team player with a collaborative approach.
• Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced operational environment.
• Good level of computer literacy in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers visiting the depot; act as first point of contact.
• Manage an order from enquiry to post-hire feedback and own the customer journey.
• Build relationships with regular customers and upsell where appropriate.
• Communicate with customers face to face, on the telephone, via email and website requests.
• Deliver best-in-class service and continuously improve our processes.
