Job description

Due to the expansion of our team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time or part-time Customer Service Assistant to join Animed Direct on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will work as part of a contact centre team to ensure customer queries and orders are efficiently responded to and resolved.

Animed Direct was established in 2010 and sells animal medicines, pet food, and accessories to customers across the UK.

Some of your key duties include the following:

  • Being there for the customer when needed, answering telephone calls and Live chats throughout the day.
  • Striving for excellence, offering the best level of service to each customer.
  • Resolving customer issues in the most efficient time frame.
  • Accurately recording details of enquiries, comments, and constructive feedback to help improve customer journeys.

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:

  • You're a real people person, happy to engage with customers through calls and live chats.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a clear and professional manner.
  • Active listening skills, understanding customer needs, and showing empathy when appropriate.
  • IT skills, with the ability to navigate multiple systems comfortably during calls.

This role is 40 hours per week (5 x 8-hour shifts) or 20 hours per week (5 x 4-hour shifts). Preference for working Monday to Friday, with an option to work on Saturdays if it suits you.

Location: Hybrid – The role involves a mixture of working in our Diss office (2 days a week) and from home. Initial training will be two full weeks on-site at the Diss office.

Compensation and benefits include:

  • An hourly rate of £12.21.
  • Six weeks of leave per year (including five weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays).
  • Additional annual leave accrual up to 7.6 weeks over five years.
