Job summary

IKEA Cardiff is hiring a Customer Relations Assistant to greet customers, support with checkouts and returns, and turn challenges into positive solutions. You’ll be the friendly face and voice helping visitors enjoy a great shopping experience in a busy, people-first environment.

Key qualities include a customer-first mindset, ability to handle multiple tasks with composure, and basic computer skills. The role is on-site in Cardiff with flexible hours to match store needs.

IKEA Cardiff are looking to welcome a Customer Service Assistant to join our fantastic team. As a Customer Relations Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face and supportive voice that turns challenges into solutions and visitors into lifelong fans. WHAT WE OFFER

• The Start Date of employment will be: 27th September 2026
• Competitive hourly rate of £13.45 per hour.
• 12 hours working 3 days per week and 3 out of 4 weekends. With availability to work between 10.00am until 8.15pm.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

• You prefer to take initiative, are adept at managing several responsibilities concurrently, and value teamwork while also being able to complete assignments without direct supervision.
• You have a customer-first mindset, where you make the customer feel valued and supported in everything you do, always bringing positivity and professionalism to help.
• You are computer literate and able to work with technology.
• The ability to maintain composure and poise when dealing with a variety of customers and complex complaints.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• Working on our checkouts and returns desk to support customers in a timely manner, ensuring precise cash handling, transaction accuracy, and a customer focused understanding
• Greeting and welcoming customers with warmth to set the tone for a great day of shopping
• Use your knowledge and problem-solving skills to resolve customer complaints, dealing positively and quickly with any issues raised.
• Ensure accurate handling of all returned products, highlighting and escalating any product issues immediately.
