Job description

A fast-growing, technology-led B2B business is looking for a Customer Operations Executive to join its Manchester-based operations team.

This is an operations role that stays customer-focused without being customer-facing. The account managers own the customer relationships. You’ll make sure everything behind them runs accurately and on time, from order entry through production to dispatch.

The business wants a data-driven, analytical member of the team who excels at the numerical and operational side of the job. You’ll have some commercial or production experience already, and you’ll enjoy working with data rather than dealing with customers directly. In return, there’s real scope to grow as the business continues to scale and invest in automation and AI.

Responsibilities

• Enter, validate and manage customer orders, making sure every detail is accurate before anything reaches production
• Own the order data and keep systems clean, accurate and up to date
• Track orders through production to dispatch, and review upcoming work to spot risks, bottlenecks and errors before they become problems
• Analyse order and operational data to identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities to improve processes
• Report on order accuracy, turnaround times and operational performance
• Work closely with Account Management, Operations and Production to keep jobs moving and resolve issues quickly
• Use automated workflows confidently, checking their outputs and stepping in when something needs human judgement

Requirements

• Experience in an operations, commercial, production or data management role, ideally in manufacturing, print, logistics or another fast-paced B2B environment
• A strong head for numbers and data, with confident Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Experience with order management, ERP or similar systems
• Excellent attention to detail and a track record of accurate data management
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of how orders, costs and deadlines fit together
• The ability to work independently, manage several priorities and take ownership from day one
• A proactive, problem-solving approach and genuine pride in getting things right

This role suits someone early in their career who already has solid operational, commercial or production experience and prefers the data side of the work to customer interaction. It isn’t an entry-level position. A degree is welcome
