Customer Installation Engineer - South East region, Crowborough

The role

The Customer Installation Engineer will support our customers from installation to connection, providing a five-star service. Responsibilities include installing our FTTP network, troubleshooting, supporting customer setups, and potentially working on core distribution cabling. The role is primarily within a customer installation team, with occasional work on the core network.

Responsibilities

• Provision of FTTP broadband services in residential and business premises
• Installation and splicing of fibre cabling (underground and overhead)
• Deployment and commissioning of customer premises equipment (ONT and router)
• Delivering professional customer handovers
• Self-auditing work to meet quality standards
• Maintaining a tidy and safe work environment
• Responding effectively to customer requests
• Completing work within agreed timeframes
• Adhering to Health & Safety and environmental regulations
• Safe operation of tools and plant, with valid calibration certificates
• Following company transport policies
• Conducting daily safety checks of equipment

Your experience

• At least 3 years of high-quality cabling experience in BT Openreach ducts and infrastructure
• Experience working with overhead and underground networks
• Customer-facing experience with a focus on service
• Calm problem-solving skills
• Confidence working at height
• Strong communication skills
• Organized, able to manage multiple projects
• Experience in a similar role, exposure to OR network (PIA)
• GCSEs or equivalent in math and English
• Full clean driving license
• SA001/SA002 accreditations (current)
• NSRWA Unit 2 Signage, guarding, and light

Desirable qualifications

• Knowledge of BT Openreach standards for underground and height safety
• Current qualification to work on BT Network or equivalent

DBS checks

This role requires a basic DBS check. All convictions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, with unspent convictions being the primary focus. Applicants will need to declare any unspent convictions during the application process.
