Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver for Waitrose deliveries. You will be the friendly on‑the‑road representative, providing excellent service while delivering groceries and engaging with customers.

The role involves some in‑store work, stock replenishment, and keeping vehicles well‑maintained and safe. The position offers part‑time hours across seven days, with early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Hold a full, valid UK manual car driving license (B category) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Excellent people skills and friendly customer service approach.
• Able to perform physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving items up to ~18kg.

Responsibilities

• Be the friendly Waitrose face on the road, delivering great customer service.
• Discuss order changes with customers and arrange refunds quickly if needed.
• Handle products with care and treat them as your own.
• Explain substitutions so customers are not charged extra when substitutions occur.
• Assist customers with groceries and build trusting relationships on deliveries.
• Familiarise yourself with daily delivery routes.
• Complete daily safety checks on the delivery van to ensure road readiness.
• Support the wider CFC team with warehouse tasks when not on the road.
