Job summary

OpenAI in London is seeking Forward Deployed Engineers to lead complex deployments of frontier models in production, partnering with customer engineering and domain teams. You will own discovery, scoping, design, build, and rollout, measuring success via adoption and impact on workflows.

This role is based in London with a hybrid work model (3 days in office) and relocation assistance; travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience that includes customer-facing work.
• Experience delivering complex deployments end-to-end in fast-moving environments.
• Proficiency in production-grade code across frontend and backend with Python/JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across multiple deployments from prototype to production.
• Build full-stack systems delivering customer value and accelerate learning.
• Embed with customer teams to understand needs and drive adoption of what you build.
• Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers early to protect delivery.
• Make trade-offs between scope, speed and quality; adjust plans accordingly.
• Contribute code when needed to accelerate progress and clarity.
• Codify patterns into reusable tools and playbooks for others.
