Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in London to lead end-to-end deployments of frontier models in production. You will own discovery, scoping, design, build and rollout, partnering with customer engineering and domain teams.

You will measure success through production adoption and impact, collaborating with Product, Research, Partnerships, GRC, Security, and GTM teams. Hybrid work (3 days in office) in London, with relocation assistance and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience that includes customer-facing work.
• Experience scoping and delivering complex systems in fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
• Proficient in production-grade code across frontend and backend using Python, JavaScript, or comparable stacks.
• Experience with systems powered by LLMs or generative models.

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery across deployments from prototype to production.
• Build full-stack systems delivering customer value.
• Embed with customer teams to guide adoption of what you build.
• Scope work, sequence delivery, and remove blockers early.
• Make trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality; adjust plans to protect delivery.
• Contribute in code when needed to progress.
