About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll bring the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service directly to our customers’ doors. You will actively embody our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers.

When not on the road, you'll support the team with daily tasks such as stock replenishment and housekeeping, contributing to the efficient and welcoming running of the shop. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

You will typically start your day in store and be responsible for:

1. Checking your delivery routes for the day.
2. Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are organized for efficient delivery directly to customers.
3. Completing vehicle safety checks to maintain road compliance and safety standards.
4. Representing the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as your priority.
5. Assisting customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
6. Supporting the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.

Essential skills/experience

• Valid UK manual driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 points.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work independently.
• IT literacy.

Desirable skills/experience

• Previous driving experience, particularly with chilled vehicles, is advantageous.
