Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is hiring Customer Delivery Drivers to bring Waitrose quality to customers' doors. You’ll be the friendly face of the brand, delivering groceries and representing a professional, tidy appearance while maintaining high service standards.

You'll start in-store and head out on well-equipped vans, handle substitutions and refunds professionally, and perform safety checks. The role is full-time, flexible across shifts, with an emphasis on customer care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Full UK manual car driving license (B category) with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Excellent people skills and a friendly approach to customer service.
• Physically capable for lifting crates and moving items up to 18 kg.

Responsibilities

• Be a friendly face for the Waitrose brand while you’re on the road—great customer service is your number one goal.
• Chat with customers about changes to their order (substitutions or short‑dated items) and arrange refunds if needed.
• Handle products with care and treat them as your own.
• Ensure customers are not charged extra for substituted items.
• Help customers with groceries and build a trusting relationship.
• Familiarise yourself with the delivery route for the day.
• Perform safety checks on the van to ensure road‑readiness and compliance.
• Assist the wider CFC team with warehouse tasks when off the road.
