Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education in Humber region is seeking a Storekeeper / Store Person - Culinary Operations to manage the storeroom and inventory for culinary operations. You will receive, inspect, store, and issue food ingredients, beverages, disposables, and supplies.

You will maintain FIFO/FEFO rotation, monitor stock levels, ensure proper labeling and storage, and comply with food-safety policies. The role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy in counting, and ability to work with

Qualifications

• Experience in food-service or warehouse environments preferred.
• Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO inventory rotation.
• Ability to count and record inventory accurately.
• Understanding of food safety practices.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication with chefs and suppliers.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming food, beverage, packaging, and kitchen supplies.
• Verify quantities and product specifications against delivery documents.
• Check temperatures for temperature-sensitive items.
• Store products in the correct dry, refrigerated, or frozen areas.
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO rotation and check dates.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify low-stock or overstocked items.
• Maintain organized storeroom and storage areas.
• Issue products based on requisitions or procedures.
• Keep accurate inventory records and assist with counts.
• Report discrepancies and assist with stock reconciliation.
• Label and store allergens appropriately.
• Follow food-safety and workplace policies.
