Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a higher level Imaging Department Assistant within the busy CT department at Royal Preston Hospital. You will rotate through all scanners, assist Radiographers, and provide excellent patient care and communication throughout the CT journey.

Depending on qualifications and experience, you may begin at Band 2 and progress to Band 3, with full induction and training opportunities offered to support your development in this role.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in a health-related subject is required.
• Willing to undertake venepuncture and cannulation training if needed.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the patient throughout their CT journey, including preparation and post-care.
• Cannulate the patient and prepare contrast media as required.
• Monitor patients during specialist procedures and provide emotional support.
• Assist Radiographers/Radiologists and the multidisciplinary team to improve CT workflow.
• Perform administrative tasks, stock-ordering, and routine cleaning of the department.
