Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is seeking a dedicated Band 3 Imaging Department Assistant to join the busy CT department at Royal Preston Hospital. You will rotate through all scanners and assist Radiographers and Radiologists with CT procedures, delivering excellent patient care.

The role includes preparing patients, cannulating and contrast media handling, and supporting the CT team to maintain a smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in a health related subject is required; training post possible with Level 3 apprenticeship in Diagnostic Imaging within 18 months.
• Level 2 Functional Literacy & Level 2 Numeracy or GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) required.
• Care Certificate completed or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with local and national standards.
• Assist to maintain patient safety, following health, safety and security legislation and guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining standards of care and practice by meeting patients' needs and choices.
• Contribute to a safe, clean and productive environment and to stock ordering and daily cleaning of the department.
• Duties include venepuncture and cannulation training as needed.
