Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic, reliable Band 3 Imaging Assistants to join the Radiology department at Broomfield Town Chelmsford. The role rotates across CT, Ultrasound and MRI and may include time at our outlying community hospitals.

You will contribute to a 24‑hour service, with a 37.5 hour week, nights on rotation, and duties such as preparing patients, chaperoning and coordinating lists.

Qualifications

• A good standard of written and spoken English
• Computer Literate
• NVQ level 2/3 in Healthcare

Responsibilities

• Duties involve assisting with minor sterile procedures, chaperoning, coordinating patient lists and preparing patients for their examinations.
• The role of an imaging assistant is a clinical role; they provide support to a variety of staff groups including consultant radiologists, sonographers and radiographers across all imaging modalities.
• Our imaging assistants are required to provide support for the extended working week, therefore a commitment to work evenings and weekends is expected as part of core hours or as additional out of hours.
