Job summary

First Technical Recruitment is seeking a CS&A Engineer to deliver civil, structural, and architectural engineering solutions on contract. You will lead design activities, produce technical documentation, and guide junior engineers across Warrington or Westlakes projects.

The role requires degree-qualified engineers with experience in reinforced concrete, steelwork, and allied design software, and a strong grasp of British Standards and CDM regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading civil/structural design projects with control over delivery, quality and budget.
• Proven ability to work with clients and stakeholders and manage resources.

Responsibilities

Shape the future of complex engineering projects while leading innovative civil and structural design solutions.

Our Client has a requirement for a CS&A Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington or Westlakes.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality civil, structural and architectural engineering solutions across a range of projects. Lead and support the delivery of engineering activities to ensure work is completed to scope, programme, budget and quality requirements. Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams and stakeholders. Support the development of junior engineers and designers through mentoring and technical leadership. Produce and deliver design documentation and engineering solutions in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Ensure the technical quality and excellence of your own work and the work of engineers and designers working under your supervision
• Support project planning, delivery and financial performance, including management of resources and programme requirements
• Communicate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary design teams, providing technical input and design justification
• Provide technical and professional guidance, support and development to junior designers and engineers
• Be responsible for the development and delivery of design documents and engineering solutions
• Chair and facilitate both technical and non-technical meetings, including design reviews and progress meetings
• Undertake independent and autonomous work while delivering complex engineering activities
• Maintain compliance with business management and quality management systems and encourage adherence within the wider team
• Coordinate and supervise surveys, assessments and condition inspections as required

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, or able to demonstrate equivalent underpinning knowledge and experience
• Experience within a civil and structural design role with direct influence over design practices and project outcomes
• Proven ability to lead projects of varying size and complexity, managing technical delivery, quality, programme, budget and resources
• Expert user of the latest versions of AutoCAD, Revit and associated design software, with the ability to work independently
• Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant British Standards and CDM Regulations
• Experience producing detailed designs for reinforced concrete and structural steelwork
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while liaising directly with clients and stakeholders
• Awareness of applicable engineering codes, standards and safety legislation and their practical application
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
