Job summary

SMS International Shore Operations seeks an organised Transportation Planner to coordinate coach transport for cruise embarkation and debarkation. You will review passenger numbers, flight timings and port requirements, then arrange bookings with coach operators, ensuring schedules are accurate and updated as plans change.

You will build strong relationships with providers across UK destinations, monitor costs, and contribute to forward planning for upcoming calls.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in transportation planning, scheduling or coach coordination.
• Experience working with coach companies or transportation providers is highly advantageous.
• Background in cruise, travel, tourism or passenger transportation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review transportation requirements from Shore Operations, including passenger numbers and flight times.
• Plan and coordinate coach transportation for embarkation and debarkation operations.
• Determine number and type of coaches to balance passenger needs, timings and cost.
• Liaise with coach operators to check availability and arrange bookings.
• Provide suppliers with passenger numbers, schedules, locations and instructions.
• Maintain accurate transportation schedules and update changes as needed.
• Identify potential issues and coordinate solutions with colleagues and suppliers.
• Build relationships with transportation providers across UK destinations.
• Support forward planning for upcoming cruise calls and periods.
• Maintain records of bookings, confirmations and transportation requirements.
• Communicate updates to relevant teams and management.
