Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide a comprehensive maintenance service across the hospital estate. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and minor installations to support patient care and NHS standards.

The role requires knowledge of heating, ventilation, water systems, BMS, legionella control, and safe working practices. You will work across clinical and non-clinical areas, respond to emergencies, maintain records, and liaise

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline.
• Sound understanding of mechanical building services systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and systems.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to mechanical equipment and infrastructure.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
• Complete reactive maintenance tasks in accordance with service requirements.
• Undertake minor installation and project works as directed.
