Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to perform planned and reactive maintenance across our contract. You will maintain pumps, motors, valves, piping, heating and ventilation systems, ensuring safety, compliance and uptime.

You will also work with the Site Supervisor and be on an on-call rota for out‑of‑hours issues. The role requires practical knowledge of building services, strong fault‑finding skills and the flexibility to attend emergencies.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in commercial building-services.
• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, or equivalent mechanical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Execute planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to mechanical building-services equipment.
• Inspect and repair pumps, motors, valves, piping, heating and ventilation systems.
• Carry out plumbing and general mechanical maintenance tasks.
• Support air-handling units and HVAC equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.
• Participate in on-call rota and respond to out-of-hours faults and emergencies.
• Escalate significant faults and arrange specialist support when needed.
