Qualifications

• UK registration as a social worker (Social Work England)
• Completion of AYSE/ASYE (first year in practice)
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle for work
• Understanding of the Mental Health Act and Care Act
• Experience in mental health services and urgent care teams

Responsibilities

• Carrying out holistic assessments of people referred to the crisis service, and planning, delivering and evaluating their care
• Taking part in initial assessments to decide whether the service is appropriate, and liaising with referring agencies about alternatives
• Assessing and monitoring risk to the person and to others, including their mental state
• Building therapeutic relationships with clients, families and carers, especially around hospital admission and discharge
• Taking part in team and clinical meetings and case conferences
• Keeping accurate, secure records
• Working with the Clinical Lead and a professional social work supervisor
• Joining the on-call arrangements
