Job summary

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist for the Crisis Response and Home Treatment Team, based at Rochford Mental Health Unit. You will provide community-based assessments and recovery-focused interventions to keep adults safe at home and out of hospital.

The post involves clinical leadership, supervision of junior staff and students, and multi-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in mental health.
• Full driving licence with access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop person-centred care plans.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to support recovery and independence.
• Provide crisis assessment and treatment for service users in the community.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Support hospital admission avoidance and facilitate early discharge where appropriate.
• Manage a defined caseload and coordinate care.
• Assess and manage risk to ensure safe and effective care.
• Provide supervision, mentorship and support to junior staff and students.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service audits and development.
• Promote recovery, social inclusion and engagement in meaningful daily activities.
• Provide clinical leadership and help shape care pathways and service development.
