Job summary

Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is seeking a dedicated Crematorium Technician to join its Bereavement Services team. This vital role ensures the safe and efficient operation of cremation services while maintaining high standards of dignity and care.

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in the crematorium environment and hold ICCM or FBCA certification. Responsibilities include operating cremators, performing maintenance, and providing support to bereaved families.

This full-time permanent position may require occasional weekend work and being outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate cremators and associated equipment safely.
• Experience in a crematorium environment.
• Full and valid driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Operate cremators and associated equipment in line with regulations.
• Carry out daily checks and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure tracking of the deceased throughout the cremation process.
• Prepare chapels and assist with services.
• Maintain cleanliness across the crematorium.
