Job summary

Hatched Recruitment Group is recruiting a Crematorium Technician to support Belfast City Council's Bereavement Services in Belfast. The role involves welcoming mourners, preparing chapels, operating equipment, maintaining records and ensuring dignified services.

Based on Belfast, you will handle cremator operations, oversee paperwork, and maintain clean facilities. A minimum of one year's relevant experience and willingness to pursue the CTTS training within six months are required.

Qualifications

• Strong customer care and communication skills.
• Ability to provide sympathetic advice and support to customers.
• Capable of carrying out administrative duties with accurate records.
• Good work planning and basic health and safety understanding.
• Willingness to gain the Crematorium Technician Training Certificate of Proficiency (CTTS) within six months.

Responsibilities

• Receive funerals and greet mourners with tact and compassion.
• Prepare the chapel, assist during services and operate AV equipment.
• Carry out identification checks and operate cremator equipment per regulations.
• Perform routine cleaning, checks and minor maintenance of cremators.
• Handle, store and prepare cremated remains for collection or disposal.
• Keep records up to date and manage cremation paperwork.
• Maintain cleanliness of chapel, waiting rooms and grounds.
