Crematorium & Memorial Group (CMG) is seeking a Crematorium Assistant at East Lancashire Crematorium. This full-time role combines multi-skilled duties across chapel services, grounds maintenance and administrative tasks to support families during difficult times.

You will help set up services, greet families, manage bookings, respond to enquiries and keep grounds and memorial areas well presented. The role requires empathy, good organisational skills and a readiness to learn in a regulated

Qualifications

• Compassionate and empathetic with families.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
• Comfortable using basic IT systems for bookings.
• Previous customer-facing experience preferred (hospitality, care, retail, bereavement).

Responsabilités

• Support chapel services, including setting up seating and AV equipment.
• Assist with witness interments or ashes scatterings with sensitivity.
• Maintain crematorium grounds and memorial areas.
• Assist families with memorial enquiries and guidance.
• Manage service bookings, records, and invoicing.
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries professionally.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and PPE usage.
