Job summary

CMG Wear Valley Crematorium is seeking a Crematorium Assistant to support chapel services, grounds maintenance and admin tasks. You will greet families, set up seating and A/V, manage service bookings and respond to enquiries with care and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and empathetic communication with families.
• Physically capable of manual tasks and grounds maintenance.
• Comfortable using basic IT systems for bookings and admin tasks.
• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support chapel services, including seating setup and greeting families.
• Assist with witness interments or ashes scatterings with sensitivity.
• Maintain crematorium grounds and memorial areas.
• Help families with memorial enquiries and guidance.
• Manage service bookings, records, and invoicing.
• Respond to telephone and email enquiries professionally.
• Follow health and safety rules and use PPE correctly.
