Job summary

MTrec Commercial is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent basis in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will be responsible for chasing overdue invoices, handling a high volume of calls and emails, and liaising with clients to resolve payment issues.

The role requires strong Excel skills, data analysis ability and professional communication. A fast-paced environment demands organisation and resilience, with opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control procedures and debt collection.
• Numerate with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent IT skills, especially Excel, and ability to analyse data.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients.
• Professional, resilient and able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Chase and collect overdue invoices.
• Handle high volume of calls and emails.
• Speak with clients to understand reasons for non-payment.
• Process statements and payment reminders.
• Provide management information and reconciliations.
• Prepare reports for management and fee earners.
• Manage debtor ledger balances.
• Manage the collections inbox.
• Resolve invoice queries with Fee Earners.
• Support Billing Coordinator when needed.
