Job summary

MTrec Commercial is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for chasing overdue invoices, handling high volumes of communications, and maintaining debtor ledgers with accuracy.

Strong Excel skills and professional client interaction are essential. The role focuses on proactive collection activities, data reporting, and supporting billing processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will be highly organised, numerate and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Experience in credit control procedures is essential.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to analyse data, create reports and use formulas.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a professional approach to client handling.

Responsibilities

• Chase and collect overdue invoices.
• Handle a large volume of communications via phone and email.
• Proactively speak with clients to understand reasons for non-payment.
• Process statements and payment reminders; update debtor records.
• Provide timely management information and reconciliations for prompt decisions.
• Prepare regular reports for management and fee earners.
• Manage debtor ledger balances and the collections inbox.
• Resolve invoice queries with Fee Earners to close disputes.
• Support the Billing Coordinator where needed.
