Job summary

RG Consultancy is recruiting an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established and growing business. The role focuses on managing customer accounts, resolving invoice queries and maintaining cash flow with a strong emphasis on credit control.

You will liaise with customers, insurers and internal teams, perform reconciliations, allocate payments and produce aged debt reports. A confident, proactive approach and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum precedent experience in a Credit Controller role.
  • Strong reconciliation and attention to detail.
  • Experience in debt collection and resolving invoice queries.
  • Confident communicator with good negotiation skills.
  • Good IT skills including Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full credit control process for a portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Chase outstanding debts by telephone, email and written correspondence.
  • Investigate and resolve customer invoice and account queries promptly.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure balances remain within credit insurer limits.
  • Liaise with credit insurers regarding credit limit applications and reviews.
  • Allocate and reconcile customer payments.
  • Perform regular sales ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Produce aged debt reports and highlight potential credit risks.
  • Maintain accurate customer account records.
  • Work with sales and customer service teams to resolve issues and support collections.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and accounts receivable processes.

Credit Controller

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established and growing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive individual with strong sales ledger, reconciliation and credit control experience.

The role will focus on managing customer accounts, resolving invoice queries, reducing aged debt and ensuring customer balances remain within agreed credit insurer limits. You'll work closely with customers and internal departments to maintain healthy cash flow whilst delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the full credit control process across a portfolio of customer accounts
  • Chasing outstanding debts by telephone, email and written correspondence
  • Investigating and resolving customer invoice and account queries promptly
  • Monitoring customer accounts to ensure balances remain within approved credit insurer limits
  • Liaising with credit insurers regarding credit limit applications and reviews
  • Allocating and reconciling customer payments
  • Performing regular sales ledger reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  • Producing aged debt reports and highlighting potential credit risks
  • Maintaining accurate customer account records
  • Working closely with sales and customer service teams to resolve issues and support collections
  • Assisting with month-end reporting and accounts receivable processes
About You
  • Previous experience in a Credit Controller position
  • Strong sales ledger and accounts receivable experience
  • Proven background in credit control and debt collection
  • Excellent reconciliation skills and attention to detail
  • Experience resolving customer account and invoice queries
  • Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
  • Good IT skills, including Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with credit insurance arrangements would be advantageous
