Job summary

Homes for Students in Harrogate is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Finance team, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role reports to the Accounts Receivable and Credit Control Supervisor and focuses on credit control and debt collection.

You will pro-actively chase aged debt, process invoices, post to the ERP Navision, and liaise with stakeholders to resolve queries. The ideal candidate has debt collection experience and solid IT skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in debt collection.
• 2+ years in a finance function.
• Good IT skills including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Pro-actively chase and resolve active and aged debt.
• Assist with invoicing and daily bank postings.
• Update Navision with credit control notes.
• Prepare monthly customer statements and aged debt reports.

Homes for Students is a market leader in managing independent purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) The Company, since it was formed in October 2015, has secured 40,000 bed spaces across 160 properties with more than 50 different clients.

We are seeking a Credit Controller to join our Finance team in Harrogate, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Credit Controller will report into the Accounts Receivable and Credit Control Supervisor. Key tasks include credit control/debt collection. Excellent communication skills, accuracy, and an eye for detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Pro-Actively chase/resolve active and aged debt
• Client Query assistance and resolution
• Support when required, the raising and processing of sales invoicing
• Daily bank posting and reconciliations
• Allocation of receipts to invoices on a timely basis
• Updating ERP system (Navision) with credit control notes
• Issue customer statements on a monthly basis
• Assist with the weekly aged debt report with appropriate commentary
• Develop client relationships
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather information to help resolve client queries
• Assist is review/implementation of process improvements through standard operating procedures
• Support on ad-hoc tasks and reporting

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

• Experience in debt collection
• Minimum of 2-year experience in a finance function
• Good general standard of education
• Good level of IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Good communicator and interpersonal skills
• Good organisational skills and can work in a methodical manner
• Time management skills

Desirable

• Experience of the Navision System
• 3+ years experience in a finance function
• Full driving licence and use of own vehicle
• Proven track record in all areas of accounts
