Job summary

Seymour John Ltd is seeking a Finance & Credit Control Officer in Cheltenham, offering a permanent role with a salary of £28,000-£35,000 depending on experience. The role focuses on invoicing, payments, and credit control within a busy finance team.

The successful candidate will manage billing, Direct Debit collections, and customer inquiries while supporting process improvements and accurate financial records.

Qualifications

• Finance experience including invoicing and accurate financial data management.
• Credit control and debtor management experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service, with professional telephone manner.
• Strong IT skills with Microsoft Office 365, Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, issue and reconcile invoices and charges.
• Maintain billing records including discounts and adjustments.
• Process payments, deposits and Direct Debit collections.
• Monitor overdue accounts, payment plans and debt recovery.
• Respond to customer enquiries by email and telephone professionally.
• Investigate failed payments and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliations and year-end audit.
