Job summary

Seymour John Ltd in Cheltenham is seeking an Accounts Assistant for a hybrid role. The position focuses on processing supplier invoices and employee expenses, supporting the Financial Controller, and maintaining strong financial controls.

You will handle AP ledger tasks, expense processing, and assist with month-end close while ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of VAT rules relating to AP.
• Competent in Microsoft Excel and finance/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and employee expense claims.
• Code and reconcile invoices against POs and delivery notes.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with internal departments and suppliers.
• Ensure timely invoice approvals.
• Act as the first point of contact for supplier queries.
• Review aged creditors and manage issues as required.
• Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals and analysis.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
