Job summary

Seymour John Ltd in Cheltenham is seeking an Accounts Assistant (Hybrid) to support supplier invoices and employee expenses, reporting to the Financial Controller.

You will handle invoice processing, reconcile against orders, manage the AP ledger, and assist with month-end close and audits. Strong Excel and ERP system experience, plus attention to detail, are essential for this permanent role with hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic VAT understanding relating to AP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and code them accurately.
• Reconcile invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies by liaising with internal teams and suppliers.
• Ensure timely invoice approvals.
• Serve as first point of contact for supplier queries.
• Review aged creditors and investigate issues.
• Process employee expense claims and reconcile corporate credit card statements.
• Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals and analysis.
• Support audits by preparing required documentation and maintaining records.
