The Carnarvon Arms, part of Young's Pubs, in Newbury, is seeking a Sous Chef to lead and inspire a busy kitchen.

You will champion quality, create menus with the Head Chef, and develop your team while ensuring excellent service and fresh, seasonal dishes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team and delivering quality food
• Ability to design and deliver menus and daily specials
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Proactive in training and rota management

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Sous Chef kitchen team, ensuring smooth service
• Responsible for staff rota planning, training, and health & safety compliance
• Collaborate with Head Chef to design and implement new dishes and menus
• Drive kitchen performance, GP, and labour controls while maintaining quality
