Job summary

Young's in Cambridge is seeking a Sous Chef to join a vibrant kitchen team, offering development through a structured pathway and opportunities to lead fresh, locally sourced menus. The role combines creative dish development with hands-on leadership in a thriving pub-restaurant environment.

You will manage daily kitchen operations, support Head Chef, and contribute to menu design, training, and ensuring high standards of food quality and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Senior CDP seeking next step.
• Natural leadership with passion for high-quality fresh food.
• Hands-on Chef with excellent communication.
• Able to manage kitchen rota, training and health & safety responsibilities.
• Creative ability to design and deliver new dishes for menus and daily specials.
• Strong planning and organisational skills to control GP and labour.
• Pro-active approach to driving sales and growth with kitchen/front of house.

Responsibilities

• Champion excellent service through quality food.
