TARA Professional Recruitment is partnering with a specialist SEN secondary school in Telford to recruit a Performing Arts Teacher for a long-term teaching opportunity.

You will plan and deliver engaging Performing Arts lessons, adapting to pupils with SEN to build confidence, creativity and communication. The role emphasizes patient, nurturing teaching within a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Dance, Music or related subject.
• Experience teaching Performing Arts within a secondary school setting.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and accessible lessons.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach to supporting young people.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons across the Performing Arts curriculum in a specialist SEN setting.
• Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet individual pupil needs, encouraging practical, creative and theoretical understanding.
• Maintain effective classroom management and assess pupil progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the wider school team to support pupils' development.
