Job summary

TARA Professional Recruitment Ltd, in partnership with a specialist SEN secondary school in Telford, seeks a Performing Arts Teacher for a long-term opportunity.

Plan and deliver engaging lessons, adapt to pupils’ needs, assess progress and nurture confidence, creativity and performance skills.

QTS or equivalent, degree in Performing Arts, and SEN experience are required. A patient, empathetic and professional approach with strong classroom management completes the profile.

Qualifications

• QTS or a recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree or relevant qualification in Performing Arts, Drama, Dance, Music or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Performing Arts within a secondary school.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach to supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Performing Arts lessons across the curriculum.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual pupil needs and abilities.
• Assess pupil progress and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
