TARA Professional Recruitment in partnership with a specialist SEN secondary school in Shrewsbury/Telford area is seeking a Performing Arts Teacher for a long-term teaching opportunity.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Performing Arts curriculum, adapting approaches to meet the needs of pupils with SEN. The role emphasizes creativity, confidence building and effective classroom management within a supportive school team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification.
• Degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Dance, Music or a related subject.
• Experience teaching Performing Arts in a secondary setting.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to deliver engaging lessons.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Patient, empathetic and nurturing approach to supporting young people.
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons across the Performing Arts curriculum in a specialist SEN setting.
• Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet individual pupil needs.
• Maintain effective classroom management and assess pupil progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
