Job summary

TARA Professional Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a specialist SEN secondary school in Telford to recruit a Year 8 Teacher. The role involves teaching across a mix of subjects and supporting pupils with additional learning needs in a dedicated SEN setting.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive team, delivering engaging lessons and adapting approaches to meet individual pupil needs while promoting safe, structured classroom environments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience in a secondary school setting.
• Experience teaching or supporting pupils at Key Stage 3.
• Experience working with pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to teach across a range of subjects.
• Patient, consistent and nurturing approach to supporting young people.
• Flexible, reliable and professional approach.
• Willing to obtain an enhanced DBS or already held on update service.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support a Year 8 cohort across a mixture of subjects.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual pupil needs and learning styles.
• Establish positive relationships and maintain calm, structured learning environments.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school team to ensure consistent support.
