Job summary

N Family Club in Ockham, Surrey is seeking a Flexi Chef to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for children, following our nutritionist-designed recipes and accommodating allergies. You’ll join a nursery team with flexible shifts, aiming to deliver nutritious meals while maintaining high cleanliness standards.

You’ll also manage food orders and stock, mentor apprentices, and engage with parents to support our mission of inspiring early years education.

Qualifications

• Food Safety and Hygiene Level 2 or above (Level 3 during induction if not held).
• Nursery or school kitchen experience in a commercial setting.
• Experience catering for diverse dietary needs and very young children.
• Good knowledge of food allergens, child nutrition, and budgeting per child.
• Experience with Environmental Health inspections.

Responsibilities

• Cook fresh, inspiring food for children, including weekends.
• Follow nutritionist-designed recipes to ensure vitamins and nutrients.
• Cater to dietary needs and allergies, adhering to guidelines.
• Maintain kitchen paperwork, due diligence diary and hygiene schedules.
• Manage orderings, stock rotation, and supplier relations.
• Keep kitchen at high hygiene standards and comply with EH regulations.
• Build relationships with nursery parents and mentor apprentices.
• Oversee handover of meals with accurate allergy details and portions.
