Job summary

N Family Club in Tunbridge Wells is hiring a Flexi Chef to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for children, with a focus on nutrition and safety. You'll follow nutritionist-designed recipes, cater to various dietary needs and support nursery teams with meals.

You’ll manage the kitchen to a 5-star hygiene standard, handle ordering and stock rotation, mentor apprentices, and build positive relationships with parents.

Qualifications

• Nursery kitchen experience and nutrition awareness required.
• Knowledge of food allergies and child nutrition.
• Experience catering for very young children and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Cook fresh and inspiring food for our children, with occasional weekends.
• Follow nutritionist-designed recipes and menus to ensure vitamins and nutrients are provided.
• Cater to different dietary needs and follow preparation and choking guidelines.
• Know allergies and dietary requirements and prevent cross-contamination.
• Prepare daily lunch and a smoothie for nursery team with dietary considerations.
• Maintain kitchen paperwork and the daily Due Diligence Diary and Cleaning Schedule.
• Order food supplies, manage weekly orders and stock rotation.
• Maintain a 5-star Food Hygiene rating and comply with EH regulations.
• Build relationships with nursery parents.
• Mentor the Nursery Apprentice Chef scheme when required.
• Adhere to H&S policy and lead with culinary excellence.
• Handover food at mealtimes with accurate allergy details and portions.
