Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Community and Cultural Engagement Officer within our Creative Communities Team to shape and deliver inspiring cultural opportunities that connect communities, support wellbeing, and transform perceptions of libraries.

You will lead the day-to-day delivery of the Lets Get Creative project, build partnerships with cultural organisations and community groups, and coordinate workshops and events across Suffolk libraries with inclusive, high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• proven project management experience within cultural, creative, community or related environments
• excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• strong organisational and time management abilities with experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
• confident using Microsoft Office applications
• experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• lead day-to-day delivery and development of the Lets Get Creative project and associated cultural initiatives
• build and maintain effective relationships with cultural organisations, artists, community partners and library colleagues
• coordinate workshops, meetings, events and cultural activities across Suffolk libraries
• support library staff to host and deliver creative projects
• develop marketing and promotional materials to raise awareness and engagement
• oversee project planning, reporting, monitoring and evaluation
• promote environmentally responsible approaches throughout project delivery
• represent Suffolk Community Libraries at conferences, partnership meetings and networking opportunities
