Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Library Manager for Kessingland Library to lead a dedicated team and deliver a welcoming, customer-focused service at the heart of the community.

You will oversee daily operations, manage stock, ensure health and safety compliance, and champion community engagement while supporting staff development and liaising with local Friends groups. This is a 16.7 hour per week onsite role with a pro rata salary.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of staff and volunteers in providing a customer-focused and responsive service.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for engaging people and building relationships.
• A proactive approach to promote innovative ideas to increase library usage.
• Confident IT knowledge to support, train staff and customers in using technology.
