Job summary

Bright Star Talent is seeking confident, reliable Cover Supervisors to support a secondary school in Burton upon Trent and nearby areas. You should be happy with day-to-day bookings and able to travel to the school at short notice.

An enhanced DBS processed within the last 12 months is essential. Prior experience with children or young people is preferred, and while a teaching qualification is not required, the ability to manage a classroom and keep pupils engaged is important.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school.
• Confident leading a classroom and building positive relationships with pupils.
• Flexible, reliable and available for bookings at short notice.
• Ability to travel to Burton upon Trent.
• Teaching qualification not essential, but desirable.

Job description

Bright Star Talent is looking for confident, reliable Cover Supervisors based in Burton, Lichfield or surrounding areas to support a secondary school in Burton upon Trent.

You must be happy to accept day to day bookings, including early morning calls for cover that day, and be able to travel to the school at short notice.

Essential requirement:

You must hold an enhanced DBS that was processed within the last 12 months to be considered for this role.

The role:

• Supervise classes during teacher absences, using work set by the teaching team.
• Keep pupils engaged, focused and on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies.
• Support pupils with instructions and encourage independent learning.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

We are looking for:

• An enhanced DBS processed within the last 12 months.
• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a secondary school.
• Confidence leading a classroom and building positive relationships with pupils.
• A flexible, reliable approach and availability for bookings at short notice.
• Ability to travel to Burton upon Trent.

A teaching qualification is not essential, but experience supporting learning or supervising groups of young people is desirable.
